For 23 years in a row, Good Shepards has been looked up to as one of the better small (No more than 11 residents) Assisted Living Facilities in Volusia County. We may pale in comparison to the bigger and fancier “institutionalized” ALF’s where folks can get lost in the shuffle, but our signature care and homey environment are so much bigger than how we appear to be… Looks can be deceiving. Just spend a day with us and you’ll get to know what we are really like.
We have an “Open Book” policy and we are very upfront with families and guardians about whatever goes on within the four walls of our facility. Our written documents including medication records, chart notes, logs, etc. are all available for families to view and examine provided that HIPAA guidelines are followed. Twenty-four-hour video surveillance is available and recorded for investigation purposes. We provide timely, appropriate and accurate updates with or without any changes in condition in an interactive fashion. We value and respect the input of everyone involved in the care of our residents. Care plan meetings are done regularly and arranged either in person or over the phone. We factor every one’s feedback into our decision-making process before we move to resolve any issue. The Owner-Administrators are open to talk to anyone needing to be heard and most importantly listened to. There is no third party or another leadership channel to go to for answers. Families directly connect with the owners any time of the day or night for whatever they need… and remember that owners only live 5 minutes away from the facility.
